Helping adults feel more confident in their ability with the English language and their grammar skills.
Bespoke Tutoring to Fit Your Exact Needs
There are lots of reasons why I work with adults and, whatever your reasons for seeking support, I wish to assure you from the start that you’re not alone. Reasons range from re-taking English GCSE after leaving school to those simply wishing to boost their employability and everything in between.
If you are an adult looking to re-take your English GCSE then you have come to the right place! If you are re-taking your English GCSE, it is likely that you will be doing the AQA GCSE exams so please also have a read of the GCSE page after reading this page. You may or may not be studying both language and literature – it depends on your reasons for re-taking. For example, it might be the case that your employer only requires you to take the Language GCSE.
Alternatively, you may want lessons to just improve your overall spelling, punctuation and grammar. Or maybe you have recently discovered you have dyslexia and want support in managing that. Possibly, you may even have decided on a career change and for this you need to improve your English knowledge. Whatever your reason, I am here to help – I love teaching adults. Whatever your requirements, I offer flexible tutoring so you learn exactly what you need to know to successfully take that next step.
Past Adult English Tutees
In the past, I have taught many adults TESOL/EFL (English as a second language) as well as native English speakers who wanted to improve their employment prospects. More recently, I taught one adult student going back to do his English GCSE for their medical job. The one thing all of these experiences had in common? – I really enjoy teaching adults!
Just like teenagers and children, we all learn differently. However, the great thing about adults is that, usually, they are really clear on communicating the best ways in which they learn. For most of us, clear guidance on what we need to know is usually the best way forward. Success criteria’s and example work can really help with this. Also working together to answer and write out questions is a great way to learn.
Whatever your reason for wanting to return to learning/improving/revising your English, please do get in touch and I will be thrilled to help!
If you are working towards a specific exam, for example GCSE or EFL related exams, then please do look at the section for that on this website too.
